Art Deco is an art style which has originated in France and dominated during the 1930s and has made its way to modern car designs. Art deco styled bodywork is characterized by teardrop fenders, long hoods, and streamlined shapes. The art style was popular among French car manufacturers such as Delahaye, Delage, Talbot-Lago, Voisin and Bugatti. It was also practiced by many coachbuilders such as Carrosserie Vanvooren, Darl Mat, Fernandez et Darrin, Figoni et Falaschi, Fleetwood, Franay, Hartmann, Judkins Berline, and LeBaron. Art deco cars were popular among prewar cars and classic cars, they are to referred to as the “rolling sculptures” due to their flamboyant looks, and size.
