The French Quarter Charleston may be the most romantic of Charleston's districts. It’s name derives from the fact that this area was heavily populated by French Huguenots that emigrated here. This area is home to the oldest religious structure in Charleston - St. Michael's Church. The Church was build in 1750s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a National Historic Landmark.
