The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is located in Black Hills, South Dakota, United States. The memorial features sculptings of the four US presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln (left to right). Its purpose was to promote tourism in the Black Hills region and its construction has ended in late October 1941 due to lack of funding. Therefore only the faces of presidents have been completed, without their midbody section. The memorial has been sculpted by Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln Borglum.
