Mount Washington, Bretton Woods, New Hampshire
Mount Washington is situated in Bretton Woods in New Hampshire. Mount Washington is nearly entirely within the White Mountain National Forest. The mountain was called by Native Americans, "Agiocochook" or "Waumbek Methna." However, early settlers variously called New England's highest peak "Sugarloaf," "Christall Hill," and the "White Hill". The Mount Washington Valley was a popular tourist destination which hosts the Mount Washington Resort. The Mount Washington Hotel was visited by wealthy guests from Boston, New York, and Philadelphia, as well as various presidents, poets and celebrities from all countries. Back in it’s days it was considered to be the most luxurious hotel. Since 1986 it is was declared as a National Historic Landmark which is in service since 1902.
