Ledge Lighthouse, New London, Connecticut
$25.00
The New London Ledge Light was built in 1909 on the Southwest Ledge due to the increase in shipping around the New London Harbor. New London is also the home port to the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Chinook and the Coast Guard's tall ship Eagle. The Ledge Lighthouse was build based on the French Second Empire style, as taxpayers wanted the lighthouse to reflect the elegance of their own homes. It is said that in the lighthouse there is a ghost, "Ernie" who haunts it. On a regular basis there is unexplained, knocking, doors opening and closing, lights going on and off.
